Notary Notice: If a signer is physically located in Ohio and uses an online notary, the notary must be licensed in Ohio and located within the state during the notarization.
If you already have a case pending before the court, please do not file a new case in e-filing. Choose the Existing Cases option, enter the Case Number, and click the eFile button.
You can now view non-confidential documents filed on cases using the E-Filing Case History. If you need to find a case number use the Record search first. Please refer to E-Filing How to View Filed Documents(PDF, 2MB) for more details.
Franklin County e-Filing System
Notice of Redaction Responsibility: I understand that I am responsible for redacting personal identifiers and confidential information that should not be viewed by the public, and that this responsibility applies to all documents, including attachments and exhibits that I file. Personal identifiers and confidential information subject to redaction include, but are not limited to, information identified in the following: Ohio Superintendence Rule 44(H), R.C. 2303.901, each court's local rules, the requirements of Marsy's Law as it relates to a victim's identifying information, and as otherwise ordered by the court. I am familiar with those provisions and understand that I must submit personal identifiers and confidential information on a separate Confidential Disclosure of Personal Identifiers form which is available on the Clerk of Court's website.
e-Hearing Locator
Available to participating law firms a Firm Account Management account for reconciling their monthly filing fees through the Franklin County E-Filing system. To request a Firm Account Management account for your law firm, please email the Franklin County Clerk's office at: efilinghelp-clerk@franklincountyohio.gov
Any person who registers as a filer in the Franklin County Probate Court's E-Filing System and agrees to abide by the Court's Administrative Order can E-File, unless otherwise ordered by the Court. All pleadings requiring a new case number or the payment of Court costs shall be filed by 4:30 p.m.
You need the ability to save your documents into Portable Document Format (PDF) and MS Word (.doc, .docx) for proposed orders/entries. Microsoft Office provides this capability. Various free software downloads that enable PDF conversion are available through the Internet.
A computer, Internet connection and an e-mail address are needed to e-File. In order to file documents that are not in PDF or MS Word (.doc, .docx) format you may need an optical scanner.
