Interpretation Services

The Franklin County Probate Court provides interpreters, free of charge, to facilitate the participation in court proceedings of persons who either:

  • do not speak English;
  • do not speak English as their primary language and who have limited ability to read, speak, write or understand English or
  • are deaf or hard of hearing.

Court interpreters help to ensure that all persons are given equal access to the court and that court proceedings function efficiently and effectively.

Interpretation services are available for hearings by appointment with a 48 hour notice preferred. Same day requests may available for all departments based on time and availability of our interpretation partners. Securing the service of a qualified professional interpreter takes time to coordinate.
